Fokker contributes to latest Dassault business jet

New Falcon ' 7X' rolled-out in Bordeaux today

The French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation will today roll-out its latest business jet: the Falcon '7X'. Fokker Aerospace Group is contributing to this advanced aircraft by the design and production of the wing control surfaces, including the flaps, ailerons and spoilers. As announced earlier, the order represents a value for Fokker of over EUR 100 million, spread over a period of more than ten years from 2004.

The completely new Dassault Falcon '7X' business jet will be presented at today's roll-out in Bordeaux, and the first test flights are scheduled to start in the near future. Due partly to the contribution of Fokker Aerospace Group's advanced design techniques and lightweight materials, this new business jet represents a number of significant technological innovations. For example it meets high aerodynamic demands that enable it to achieve greater altitudes and speeds, and design and production are handled in a fully integrated digital environment. In addition, the '7X' is the first business jet to have full fly-by-wire technology.
