22 December 2004
As part of the order from EADS to Dutch Space under the Ariane 5 project, Dutch Space has awarded the order to Fokker Aerospace Group to build lightweight engine frames for the European launch vehicle. This order will represent a turnover value for Fokker of more than € 20 million, spread over the period from 2004 to 2010.
The Leiden-based Dutch Space announced in October that it had received an order from the European aviation and aerospace company EADS with a total value of € 50 million for the design and supply of fifty engine frames for the European Ariane 5 rocket. Following on from the supply of engine frames for the Ariane 4 rocket, Fokker and Dutch Space today reached final agreement about the supply to Dutch Space of a significant proportion of the engine frames for the European Ariane 5 rocket.
Fokker Aerospace Group develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aviation and aerospace industry, and supplies integrated services to aircraft owners and operators. The group achieved a turnover of € 478 million in 2003 with 3,000 employees out of the total Stork turnover of €1.94 billion.
