Fokker 50 / F27 Simulator behaviour during operation outside aft CG limit
During a Fokker 50 Engineering Flight Simulator study following a 1999 accident with an F27 aircraft operating outside the load and balance limitations, it was found that the Flight Simulator behaviour did not accurately reflect the actual aircraft behaviour for an aircraft with a CG outside the aft CG limit. At CG locations far beyond the aft CG limit, aircraft control was still available whereas on the actual aircraft control would be lost long.
Fokker Services considers this an undesirable situation and has therefore revised the Engineering Flight Simulator Aero Database at this point. Fokker Services is of the opinion that the F27 and Fokker 50 operators and Flight Simulator owners/companies must also have the opportunity to adapt the Aero Databases of the Flight Simulators in use at their facilities and therefore has decided to offer this change also to them.
Note: the Fokker 50 and the F27 in general have the same Flight Simulator behaviour in this respect.
TON50.061 and TON27.045 were issued to inform Fokker 50 and F27 Operators and Flight Simulator owners/companies about this phenomenon and the actions to be performed to improve the Flight Simulator behaviour in this CG area.
