The Fokker trainee programme is an intensive course aimed at personal development of top talent. It is a combination of theory and practice in breadth and depth. Very specifically you enhance your knowledge and skills. It is the way to let your talents flourish.

The Fokker trainee programme is the trainee programme for talented academics. Every year we offer about six talented academics the opportunity to become proficient in General Management. The programme aims to teach management skills in the broadest sense of the word. It is important that you have the ambition to challenge yourself so that you continually improve and develop.

The trainee programme takes 2 years and consists of several national and international projects lasting from 4 to 6 months. During a project you commit yourself to one of the Fokker businesses. The assignments are challenging and at the heart of our business. A good project outcome is self evident; the basis is always your personal development. Your personal development is central to the trainee programme. Together with your coach from senior management within Fokker you set your learning goals and look for assignments that allow you to develop in a fast and focused manner. You will also learn a lot from your fellow trainees; informally and also formally during peer review meetings and refresher days. The educational course trains you in general management skills such as communication techniques and leadership skills, but also as regards content such as financial management and strategy & policy. Fokker helps you get the most out of yourself.

We expect a lot from you. But you’re not on your own in this. The training programme is the start of your career as future manager within Fokker. During each assignment you are assigned an experienced supervisor who knows all about the operating company concerned. Your workplace supervisor is your source of information, contact and sounding board for each specific task. Together with your coach, you work on your personal development. In addition you can count on your fellow trainees.

You can apply for the trainee programme throughout the year. The application procedure consists of a number of discussion rounds and an assessment. In addition to a good level we expect you to continue to develop yourself, because that is central to us.
